I think it’s deeply interesting how the Christian bible described people as being created in god’s image. Independent, yet common and all-permeating. People are anything or everything to us and as people ourselves there is nothing we are more attuned to than each other.
People are at the same time mirrors or lenses to ourselves and embodiments of everything that we perceive on our most core and fundamental level; belonging, intimacy, fear, wonder, shame, dignity and love. There is something absolute that I only see in people.
