My digital photography workflow is comprised of powerful and cutting edge software, which also happens to be free and open source.
Everything from my operating system and image editing pipeline, to archive management and web publishing is built around efficiency, freedom, community ownership, accessibility and privacy.
If you are looking to become proficient in graphical tools that you are in control of I can help.

Sessions are available either in-person in central Somerset, or online via videolink: £35 for one hour or £20 for half an hour.
I also offer an online troubleshooting helpdesk/hotline at £0.80/minute.

A portion of your lesson fee is contributed to the funding of free and open source photography software, supporting its continued development.

I teach the following applications:

- GIMP: For image editing, retouching & graphic design. Alternative to Adobe Photoshop.
- Rawtherapee: For developing RAW photos. Alternative to Adobe Lightroom.
- Geeqie: For inspecting, culling and rating large sets of pictures quickly.
- Shotwell: For managing and organising a library of pictures.

I can also advise on switching to a GNU/Linux operating system, hosting your own website using YUNOhost, building it with Hugo or Wordpress, and switching from corporate social media to the Fediverse, which is community owned and run and is decentralised and open source.
